Abstract

On July 22, 2022, at the age of 90, our friend and colleague Doctor of Geography, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences Neiman Viktor Grigorievich left us. Until his last days, he worked as a chief researcher at the Laboratory of Hydrological Processes of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. He was an honorary polar explorer, an outstanding oceanographer, awarded: the USSR State Prize for outstanding achievements in science and technology in 1970 for the discovery and study of the AntiloGuiana Current and the system of the equatorial circulation of the waters of the Atlantic Ocean, the Gold Medal named after S. O. Makarov (1993) and the Order of the Badge of Honor.
