摘要

September 12, 2025 marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of Lazar Iokhanovich Kogan, an outstanding Russian geophysicist, participant in numerous expeditions on research vessels of the USSR Ministry of Geology, later the Ministry of Natural Resources and on vessels of the Russian Academy of Sciences. L. I. Kogan is a geophysicist, professor, and doctor of geological and mineralogical sciences. He is one of the Russian scientists whose works created the Russian marine seismic exploration. For over 20 years, L. I. Kogan worked in the Southern Branch of the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The article contains his stories and memories of certain key events in the history of marine seismic exploration.
