Abstract
This article dedicated to Igor’ Evgenievich Mikhaltsev’s 100th anniversary. The article discusses his huge contribution to the development of ocean technologies at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, in particular, describes the creation of deep-water manned submersibles “Pisces IV” and “Pisces XI” and “MIR-1 And “MIR-2” is introduced. He was great as the scientists, as the engineer, and as the human.
