Abstract

The article is dedicated to the 90th anniversary of the remarkable Russian scientist-oceanologist, an active participant in the hydrophysical experiment Polygon–70, Doctor of Geographical Sciences, leading researcher at the P.P. Shirshov Institute of Oceanology RAS Yuri Alexandrovich Romanov (1930–2019). Brief information about the most important directions and results of his scientific activity is given.
