Abstract

The paper concerns with foundations of technology for exploration of cultural heritage objects (CHO) buried in bottom unconsolidated sediments using the parametric profiler method and satellite navigation data. Four of the technology main components namely profilograph sonar, satellite navigation, field study techniques and algorithms of data processing are considered. The system of parametric profilograph sonar and GPS satellite navigation, intended for CHO research in bottom antropocene sediments from small ships, based on these components is considered. The results of the application of the System for the study of CHO in the underwater part of ancient Fanagoria and ancient Patrei are presented. The results of application of the Complex on the submerged battleship «The Great Ecatherine» are also presented.
