Abstract

The article is devoted to the anniversary of V.V. Zhmur – Professor, DSc, Corresponding Member of Russian Academy of Sciences. He is the Chair of the Program of Thermohydromechanics of the Ocean at the Moscow Institute (University) of Physics and Technology, leads the Laboratory of Sea Currents at the Shirshov Institute of Oceanology of the Russian Academy of Sciences, and works in the top management of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research. The article describes the contribution of V.V. Zhmur to the development of national Oceanology on key scientific papers.
