Moreover, Dr. Zodiatis is a co-developer of an advanced well established oil spill and trajectory predictions system know as MEDSLIK, a system that has been used by European and International key agencies, such as the European Maritime Safety Agency (EMSA) and REMPEC and several national agencies and EU projects throughout the Mediterranean Sea, the Black Sea, the Arabian Gulf and the Red Sea.
Dr. Zodiatis has been participated as a coordinator in more than 45 research projects in the European seas, most of them funded by the European Commission, as well as in many other projects as associated collaborator. Dr. Zodiatis is a member of several International and European organizations related to oceanography and marine research in Europe, such as CIESM, IODE/IOC, MONGOOS, EuroGOOS, GOOS.
Dr. Zodiatis is a co-Convener of the session “OS: Marine Pollution Assessment, Predictions and Risk Mapping” of the European Geosciences Union General Assembly during the years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020.
Dr. Zodiatis has more than a 150 publications, in European and United States scientific journals such as the : Deep Sea Research, Ocean Science, Scientific Report (Nature publishing Group), proceedings of international conferences, monographs and chapters in books published by Springer, Elsevier, University of Yale and other publishers. He has been participated in more than a 100 international conferences and dedicated workshops as invited and regular oral lecturer on topics related to ocean observation and numerical modeling, marine data management, marine environment and marine downstream applications. Dr Zodiatis h- index is 29 as from Google Scholar and his RG Score is 31.36 (as of January 2020).
