Abstract

The stories and memoirs of oceanographers are given by corresponding member RAS G. B. Udintseva and RAS academician A. P. Lisitsyn, recorded in 2002–2006. While still students, they took an active part in the preparation and conduct of the first test and scientific voyages of the “Vityaz”– research vessel in 1949 in the Black and Okhotsk Seas. The results of the work carried out in August–November 1949 in the Sea of Okhotsk were important both for science and for strengthening the defense capability of the Pacific borders of our Homeland.
